Microdermabrasion is a safe, progressive approach to skin care that was developed in Italy in 1987. Using vacuum and sometimes positive pressure, the machine and the specially-designed handpiece allow micro-fine crystals to pass over the skin. The handpiece then vacuums off the dead skin and crystal particles. The procedure exfoliates the dry, dull skin, whilst stimulating circulation and collagen production.

Microdermabrasion improves the overall appearance and tone of the skin. It is perfectly safe to apply make-up and return to normal activity following treatment.

Unlike traditional dermabrasion, laser or chemical peels, microdermabrasion is safe for men and women of all skin conditions and colours. After initial consultation has been carried out, a customised plan will be developed for each patient. Each session may take between 30 minutes to one hour depending on the areas to be treated. There is no recovery time associated with microdermabrasion.

Microdermabrasion How It Works

Medical Grade Crystals are vacuumed across the outer surface of the skin, using a closed loop power system and a hand piece.

The crystals remove the outermost layer of skin by exfoliation, exposing living skin cells that are soft, smooth and receptive to nutrients.

The underlying epidermis is also stimulated by the abrasion and vacuum. This promotes generation of new collagen which thickens the dermis and improves resistance to the effects of aging.
